Loon Migration Fall 2011

Dr. Michael Meyer, Research Scientist and Loon Specialist for the WDNR, reports that Kevin P. Kenow, a Research Wildlife Biologist for the U. S. Geological Survey-Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center, and his crew have updated the Loon Migration Web site where you can monitor the fall migration of Common Loons from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan.

Dr. Meyer provides a unique look at the 2011-2012 movements and migrations of the northwoods loons that are part of a long-term study of loon behavior. Visit the web site of the Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (a division of the USGS)
